Connecting Your Cloud Accounts

Securely connect your AWS and Azure accounts to Huskar in just a few minutes.

Connecting AWS

Step-by-Step Guide

  1. Navigate to Cloud Accounts
Go to your Huskar dashboard and click on "Cloud Accounts" in the sidebar.
  2. Add New Account
Click the "Add Cloud Account" button and select "AWS" as your provider.
  3. Choose Authentication Method
    Select between:
    • Access Key: Use your AWS Access Key ID and Secret Access Key
    • STS: Use Security Token Service for temporary credentials (recommended for enhanced security)
  4. Enter Credentials
Provide your AWS Account ID and authentication credentials.
  5. Verify Connection
Click "Connect" and wait for verification (usually takes a few seconds).

Required AWS Permissions

Huskar needs read and write permissions for EC2, RDS, Elastic Beanstalk, and EKS services. We recommend creating a dedicated IAM user with the minimum required permissions.

Connecting Azure

Step-by-Step Guide

  1. Navigate to Cloud Accounts
Go to your Huskar dashboard and click on "Cloud Accounts" in the sidebar.
  2. Add New Account
Click the "Add Cloud Account" button and select "Azure" as your provider.
  3. Microsoft Authentication
You'll be redirected to Microsoft Azure login page. Sign in with your Azure account.
  4. Grant Permissions
Review and grant the necessary permissions for Huskar to access your Azure resources.
  5. Enter Subscription ID
Provide your Azure Subscription ID (found in Azure Portal).
  6. Complete Connection
Click "Connect" to finalize the setup.

Secure OAuth 2.0 Authentication

Azure connections use OAuth 2.0 with automatic token refresh. Your credentials are never stored in plain text, and tokens are encrypted at rest.

What Happens After Connection?

Resource Discovery

Huskar automatically discovers all your cloud resources across all regions. This typically takes 5-10 minutes.

Continuous Syncing

Resources are synced every 5-10 minutes to keep your dashboard up-to-date with the latest status.

Managing Multiple Accounts

You can connect multiple AWS and Azure accounts to a single Huskar organization. This is perfect for:

  • Managing resources across different environments (dev, staging, production)
  • Handling multi-region deployments
  • Consolidating billing and cost tracking
  • Centralized team access and permissions

Security & Best Practices

Encrypted Storage

All credentials are encrypted at rest using industry-standard encryption.

Least Privilege

Use IAM roles with minimum required permissions for enhanced security.

All connection attempts and changes are logged for compliance.
